Webinar on “The University Startup Ecosystem as a Driver of Climate Adaptation, Green Recovery, and Sustainable Development in Ukraine”

On May 4, 2026, at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, a member of the project consortium (ERASMUS+ KA2 SUSTED “Education for sustainable development: synergy of competences for the recovery of Ukraine”), hosted a webinar on “The University Startup Ecosystem as a Driver of Climate Adaptation, Green Recovery, and Sustainable Development in Ukraine.”

Led by Kateryna Hnedina (Coordinator of Startup Development, Innovation, and Project-Based Learning at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor), the speakers focused on the following issues:

  • the role of the youth startup movement in shaping an environmental culture among young people and promoting education for sustainable development;
  • practical aspects of developing environmentally focused projects;
  • the role of universities in fostering student startups and solutions in the field of sustainable development;
  • integration of sustainable development principles into the educational process through the development of environmental competencies among higher education students and the creation of conditions for the implementation of youth innovation initiatives;

The relevance and practical value of the webinar were underscored by real-world case studies on startup projects in the fields of energy efficiency, environmental restoration, and the implementation of sustainable development principles across various sectors.
