The ABC of SD & how to grow sustainable management competencies?
TRAINING FOR TEACHERS
“The ABC of SD & how to grow sustainable management competencies?”
Hybrid format
April, 13-17, 2026
“The ABC of SD & how to grow sustainable management competencies?” – a 5-day hybrid training course for academic staff and postgraduate students from Ukrainian partner higher education institutions (HEIs) participating in the Erasmus+ SUSTED project, aimed at the practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the educational process. The training fills a critical gap between the strategic understanding of SDGs and real changes in curricula, pedagogy and institutional culture, offering a step-by-step path: from conceptual understanding of SDGs (Day 1) through localization, stakeholder engagement (Day 2), mastering pedagogical methods of education for sustainable development (ESD) (Day 3), developing KPIs (Day 4) to creating institutional action plans and professional learning communities (Day 5). Each day ends with a practical outcome for the partner university (matrices, maps, plans) that participants can implement in their institutions, creating a basis for launching a course on ‘Sustainable Development Management’ and systemic transformation of universities.
Training objectives:
- to gain an understanding of SDGs and their relevance to the educational process in HEIs;
- to develop competencies in the critical internationalisation of higher education institutions and communication with stakeholders to strengthen it;
- to develop the ability to develop methodological foundations for ESD;
- to develop skills for measuring and reporting on progress in achieving SDGs;
- to develop an action plan for introducing SDGs into individual educational institutions and the educational process as a whole;
- to exchange experiences on best practices in the field of education for sustainable development.
