Sustainable Development Ambassador Camp

From June 28 to July 4, as part of the #ERASMUS+ project SUSTED, the project partner Danubius University (Slovakia) organized another educational and promotional event “ The Sustainable Development Ambassador Camp”.

Students from five Ukrainian universities (Polissia National University; West Ukrainian National University,Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Higher Educational Institution Podillia State University, Chernihiv Polytechnic National University) had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the topic of sustainable development within a cross-cultural environment.

In addition to attending lectures by professors from Danubius University, students had the opportunity to participate in a series of interactive sessions designed to help young people understand the practical aspects of sustainable development and the role of leadership in achieving it. The camp program included:

  • ideas battle titled “SDGs and Ukraine: The Future Despite Challenges,” aimed at discussing and presenting ideas for Ukraine’s implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals amid geopolitical turbulence;
  • an eco-quest titled “17 Steps to a Sustainable Future,” designed to foster a practical understanding of the SDGs through team tasks at themed stations representing each of the goals;
  • the foresight lab “Community of the Future: From Recovery to Sustainable Development,” designed to help young people develop practical skills in strategic thinking and planning for the sustainable development of regions by modeling the future of Ukrainian communities;
  • the board game “Keep Cool” and an interactive Kahoot quiz—to raise Ukrainian students’ awareness of the principles of sustainable development and the SDGs, and to develop skills in critical thinking, leadership, decision-making, and teamwork;
  • the innovative SDG lab “Building Tomorrow Together,” whose mission is to deepen participants’ understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through intercultural cooperation, systems thinking, a creative approach to problem-solving, and the development of innovative solutions for sustainable development, among other things.
